ABOUT

ABOUT ME

I have been a photographer since I was 12 years old, now more than 60 years. At first I was self-taught but after some time I decided that I needed more and I went back to school to get a Master of Photography. That was after I earned a PhD in Geography. I combined the two and now my special area is the photography of sacred and historic places. I also work in travel photography and in nonprofit photography.

I taught geography at the University of Maryland for a number of years. I am now retired from teaching but I will never be retired from photography.

Even after I finished my MA I have continued to learn. My number one choice is to attend Momenta Workshops events. I find them to be to most flexible since the leader lets me do whatever I am most interested in learning.

I also have a background in journalism and I am now the editor of a local online newspaper. In addition to the work of editing, I write feature stories that are filled with my photographs.
